About smith and Arrow disks
I recently became interested in smith and arrow cutting disks after reading the comments on the mig welding site.
I used the inox disks as soon as they arrived. I had a lot of cutting out to do on my rusty old escort sill, and to cut a length of sheet steel to make sill sections.
What I Like about these disks is that they are ultra thin and fast to cut with on 2mm sheet steel, and for another project 25x50mm(3mm thick) box section cuts really well. They don’t stress out my old angle grinder
.
The other thing was the flap disks.
I took a tip about using flap wheels to grind the welds flat and clean up the metal for welding (also found on the mig-welding web site). In the past I’ve used flap disks from the usual sources and I wasn’t too impressed, except for the B&Q ones but they were over ten pound each!
The smith and arrow flap disks I tried exceeded my expectations. They smoothed down the lumpy welds quickly and produced a nice finish.
Its always a risk when trying new products, But I think an endorsement of merit in this particular company is warranted. What do the other members think?
Give them a try, don’t take my word for it.
