Looks lovely (if a little ET like) and at an excellent price for the ESAB helmet.

Do you have anything that might suit low amp tig work as well as your every day MIG stuff. I'm in an auto darkening mood and it would be cool to find something that would work with both welders.

Bugger! Your's will be the earlier Eyetech with the different shell. This new design really is VERY good with a superb new shell unit & more new features. (Like Auto-Select, just flick a switch & it automatically adjusts the shade for you)

Might have to be next month - running a little short on cash after buying the Miller. But it definately looks like the thing. Can it be set up to hold shade 5 even when 10 would be more sensible? Might be just the thing for my MIG videos. Been looking for a auto mask that will go low for that. I'll be pestering you for specs.

Don't know about that Malcolm but you can set it to Auto-Select so it adjusts itself depending on arc condition. Also has a grinding mode so you can grind off all those terrible welds in clear state, without lifting the thing up.
(Go on, you know you want one!)

Don't tempt me too much - you've only got 2 arms (unless someone else snapped one off earlier).

It has fixed settings as well as auto settings too? While the helmet looks great for your normal MIG and TIG stuff, it would be very handy to have something to stick the camera behind for the videos. The no.10 helmet is just too dark for the camera (everything comes out dark orange) so I'd be keen to have a manualy adjustable helmet where the camera can view my MIG welding at a lower darkness setting.

If I can do that you'll probably have a sale.

Well I can ask the question but I think I will get a somewhat bemused response from Murex ("What's this guy on about!"). All's I know is that it is designed for ALL welding processes (including synergic pulse MIG, pulsed TIG & Plasma Arc welding) & you can manually set the shade from 5 (gas welding shade) to 13 (heavy plate welding) or, set it to auto & it will sense the intensity of the welding arc & adjust itself accordingly.
Sold?!

NO! Absoloutely not! They are made in Switzerland & I think one would compliment your Portamig very nicely Lexi (It'll be the only Swiss made thing you get for Xmas if your missus has read your post about the "Wife" bit!!).
