Question Mig WFU interconnect.

Hi guys, I'd like to make up a new interconnection 'cable' (bundle) between the base-unit (transformer) and wire feed unit on my Migatronic Dynamig 405. The current one is very short.

It contains a gas hose, main current carrying cable and wires for control (trigger input etc) with an amphenol plug on each end.

Q's:
1. Anyone know where I can lay my hands on some of the outer sheath stuff that contains the various cables/hoses?
2. Anyone know what type of wire is good for the control wires, hardy enough to withstand abuse?
3. Anyone suggest a new socket/plug, the ones I have are cross-threaded

Any other inputs gratefully received. Cheers, Al.

Amphenol or "MIL" spec plugs / sockets available from RS components, look at the mating plastic face for a number eg. 7P or 14S to specify the correct types.

Try IGUS chainflex or LAPP olflex classic for the cable

Hope this helps, Stuart.

You need a run of gas hose, power cable 70mm2 and a length of multicore cable. Then pull them through the sheath yourself.

What plugs and sockets have you got now? Maybe i can match one up for you, saves confusion when re soldering the pins..

Any multicore cable is good if your having it in a sheath, I tend to use 1mm2 (cant go wrong)

And for the sheath i use 4inch hose that farmers use for their big sprinklers, (quite cheap and very heavy duty.
