Sheet steel mainly (incl. zintec), thinner gauges (I use them for 1.6 and 2mm), guillotine - will cut to size. Very DIY friendly.

Just a line to say, I popped into Austen KNapman in Paignton yesterday, bought some angle and flat bar. Also made a nuisance of myself rumaging through the offcuts!! for square section.
They were more than helpful and corteous too

Good to get a bit of feedback on some of the ones in the list.

Off topic, but, i did all the steelwork for the campervan place next door, and some for AK's shed aswell.

Anyone know of any located in hertfordshire/north london? Im in barnet and could do with finding somewhere local that people can recommend

I have always found these sound enough, and stock loads of common flat/bar/tube/plate ect,, and do a cutting/guillotining service.

There's the Metal Supermarket near Park Royal but I recently found out about Fays Metals in Acton (Unit 4, 37, Colville Rd, London, W3 8BL

Fays seem to be better on price and will sell offcuts priced by weight.

Hi All,

A place I use in Oxford is B & M Engineers Ltd. they are in Sandy Lane, Kennington. Turn into the Industrial Estate and they are first on the right. See Richard in the office or Roger in the factory. Very helpful, small quantities no minimum order or cutting charge.

Most of their stock is black but a mate went in after some bright for his loco and they were happy to order it in for next day. Full address.
