Hey guys. I've decided to buy a mig welder but am unsure what type to go for? I think I need one rated to about 150 amps but am confused about the wire.
How good is the no gas wire? I'm in a very lucky position in that a friend of mine runs a gas supply company so I can go to the yard and pick up part used bottles that have been collected any time free of charge. I will be using it outside a bit though and from what I've read the flux cored wire can be better for that?
I've got a limited budget and am hoping to pick up a used Clarke 151 or 160 (depending on whether I should go no gas or not). What trouble do these machines have as they get older because I really am a dodgy seller's dream! Would I be better off buying new? I can do, but for the use I will give it I'd rather not!
Any advice would be much appreciated.
