Hi Guys, I'm in the same boat as Pix-al and just discovered this forum this afternoon so I will be studying it closely as I am about to buy a welder as I need one to restore my old cars. I used to pay a guy to weld my cars but he has now moved away so I think it's time to learn and do it myself!
I will mainly be welding classic cars and know nothing about welders! Reading here the guys seem to recommend Clarke so I think I have narrowed it down to 2 welders
1. http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/product/details/151te-turbo-mig-welder?da=1&TC=RV-010110152
2. http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/product/details/mig160tm-welder?da=1&TC=RV-010111160
What would you guys recommend out of the 2 or can you recommend anything else? Also what does the TM/ TE mean i.e Mig160TM? Sorry if these questions seem really noobish. I plan to spend up to £350 so in theory that should get me something decent. I already have a welding helmet and a pub co2 bottle with a regulator so I'm at least semi started lol.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks, Sean
