i remember u getting that saw bench it doesnt owe u anything the work its doneI've cut up tons [I don't mean lotts] I mean literally tons of pallets, glass crates, fencing ,roof trusses, floor-boards & anything that comes my way over the last 30 odd years of wood burning & i've used the same saw bench with a 12" plate blade which I sharpen up with a fine file & gullet it out with an angle grinder from time to time, it's probably about 10" in diameter now!!! I do use a smaller blade for thinner stuff as well, I wouldn't use a carbide blade as you can't really sharpen them properly yourself a plain plate blade you can sharpen, at work I use a bandsaw which just takes pallets & I find it just as good as the circular saw.

Seems a good deal and should get through the pile.
sawTop handled saws are the most dangerous type of chain
saw
So he holds it a bit further away from his body, it's only a 12 inch chain.
I'd be more concerned that if he hits a nail with his second hand lumber with any kind of chain saw, he's gonna be in a world of hurt!
With a reasonable rear handed saw the worst that would happen with hitting a nail is that the chain snaps, the chain guard will catch it and no pain...
Thanks for the advice folks. Looks like I am now out £50 odd. I did my research on the sellers and they had nothing but positive feedback from UK buyers.
