Inconsistant wire feed speed 180EN

I have a 180EN and I can not get a consistant wire feed speed. It is very irratic. It is driving me nuts.

Make sure the wire reel turns freely. I have seen the labels cause intermittent drag.

Crappy wire will also create problems. Also bad tip/liner.

Make sure the groove in the roller is clean.

what do you think about a little grease on the wheel to make it turn easier?

Do you mean on the hub of the roll of wire? I did that on mine and it helped.

As for the roller, no.

Like Shenion mentioned before, i would replace the tip first for a new one and clean out the liner with a bit of air from the compressor....before you put grease everywhere!
Most of the wire feed trouble come from a bad tip/liner....or the wire feed rollers are clamped down too tight OR not tight enough....

Problem solved. I put white lightning on the spool holder and loosened the feed roller top tension. Works great now.
