I am about a unleash the forces again.
Why? bad covers of classic songs.
Last time was when that silicone bitch Madonna destroyed Yellow Taxi by turning it inot a techno ballad.

Who has just murdered Your Love Is Lifting Me Higher and Higher By Jacky Wilson
Surely the most wonderful love sone ever, great production, great horns and passion, especially at the end when he loses the plot.

The current version sounds like a ****** up pub karaoke tit with beer in his lap and his flies undone. Is it Jocky Wilson?

if anybody touches Loving Feeling by The Righteous Brothers I shall be off on one again.

Apologies for the rant but I have a passion for great music of all flavours.

On a less agressive note, if you want to hear a great cover which shows what a hash the original was, check out "Silly love songs" by the Red house painters. (original by Pauly and the Wings)

What about Eddie Hazel's version, killer guitar and if I remember right there is some of the Lord's Prayer being recited backwards in there.
Look out for the album Games Dames and guitar Thangs'
Far out man.
This is more like it, something serious to argue about.

Actually both 'other' versions are good too. I particularily like the guitar work in Eddie Hazel's. I'd never heard that version before. Still.....

Joe Cocker's 'She Came in Through the Bathroom Window' and 'With a Little Help fron my Friends' are two songs that immediately spring to mind as being better than the original.

Love the distorted guitar sound though.
Might be a band to watch out for. or maybe just play Ragged Glory again but louder. No I will keep an eye open there.

Autocare, great footage, but the guy sings like an angle grinder, one by silver line, but Iggy is pure Milwaukee.

Another great cover, Satisfaction by Devo, never heard it, go look it out.

Just done even mention that obscenity of a charidee sone for Haiti. Blechhhh. Out with the kalshnikovs.

The thing is he sings it with an order of magnatude more soul than Pauly. For sure, if you were expecting a catchy tune to listen to in the background, this is miles off, but the guy really gives meaning to absolutely beautiful lyrics.

Re the original subject of my rant, Your Love is Lifting me Higher the new monstrosity is done by a ****** up pub karaoke singer with beer in his lap and his flies undone.
Rod Stewart is the culprit, he owes me a new radio I just booted mine in. In this version his voice is a flat as a fart, the backing vocalists sound and probably look like the harridan from the laundrette on Hessle Road in Hull, the horn section sound like the Brighouse and Rastric brass band.
