I have recently bought a second hand SIP Migmate 100 to replace the one I had for 14 years and had absolutely with no probs welding with.
Cannot seem to get a decent gas flow tho. Does anyone know what causes the little rubber seal inside the brass regulator to swell up?
Also has anyone had problems with gas supply on the type of machine where the gas tube is connected to the brass cube inside the torch handle?
The buttons on the brass cube inside the handle on both the welders I have (2nd hand Clarke 100en & the 'new' Migmate 100) seem quite stiff. You hear a spurt of gas when you initially press the trigger then apparently nothing as the welds come out all porous.
My old Migmate 100 had a different set up where there was no connection inside the torch. The gas tube was connected to a valve inside the machine and I never had any problems.
valve was inside machine on old Migmate 100 rather than inside torch
This is drivin me fu**in mad and I haven't got any welding done on my Daimler http://jaguar-daimler-vdp-66.blogspot.com/ now for nearly a year and am now on my 3rd second hand welder!!
