This is a filter basket for engine coolant off a boat that was brought to me this afternoon. Many of the leaks appear to be down to the blind monkey that made it...
The seam around the circumference is what this thread is about.
Parameters were way off and there's incomplete pen and a combination of pinholes, centreline and toeline cracks
With a wall thickness somewhere between 1 and 1.5mm the easiest, quickest approach would simply be to reweld after a more thorough cleanup and then pickle and passivate it. Given the environment this thing lives in is that going to cut it in the long term or would i be better off chopping out the effected area or just making it watertight to get him floating again until a replacement is bought/fabbed?
