150 te shroud

is there a lining or coating of something in the shroud? got some crap stuck to the shroud and tip today so was giving the shroud a scrape on the inside and what only can be described as white almost rubbery stuff was coming out... have i inadvertantly scraped a lining out of the shroud??

Is the 150TE shroud one of the smaller screw on ones? I've just checked a Clarke made one of those here and there's a light blue plastic sleeve between the shroud and the threaded part that sticks out maybe 5mm into the shroud.

Shouldn't be a problem if you've scraped bits of that out.

yes thats the one malcolm.. what ever i scraped out was at the bottom of the shroud so looks like thats what iv done. it only happened because i was welding above me and molton metal dripped into the shroud and ended up sticking to the swan neck.. by the time i picked it off a bit of the swan neck had come with it so looks like im going to be stocking up on a few things. wheres mr weldquip haha
