Default colchester lathe spares

after a slight incident involving a large student 1800 a forklift and gravity i require another cross slide keep and pinion shaft. tryed colchester but they havnt got back to me after a week.
found another place - nobilla machine tools who have what i need but the prices are near what i payed for the machine

anyone know of any places that i could mail or phone? dont expect it to be pennys but £200 for a 4 inch shaft and casting asked about a new screw and nut £400 think ill just keep adjusting it till theres no more threads

"(looking into how acme threads are cut to see if i can make my own nuts and screw)"

1 - Buy the corect acme tap (probably LH 2start).
2 - Screwcut nut first leaving a few thou to finish with the tap. (do 2 just in case)
3 - Cut leedscrew using nut as the size gauge.
Remember bottom clearance is quite large on acme.

PS. When cutting multistart threads,
jot ALL your numbers down + put different colour paint blobs on the thread indicator so you always go in @ the same point.

good luck
