the jigsaw looks cool
I was looking for 1.6 mm rods today but surprisingly, couldn't find any so I am going for 2 mm. I'm going to try it without a heat-sink first, to see how badly I need one.

Also I don't think my inverter is capable of electronegative welding, there is no such information on the manual. I'm attaching a pair of photographs from it's manual, maybe it's there but they didn't mention it?

The high-lighted parts are the model I have.

your welder is a a dc Welder with a + and - on the two outputs to weld electronegative you just plug the electrode holder into the - (which is the negative)
to weld electropositive you just swap them around with the electrode holder in + and the earth in the -
electrode negative gives you less penetration which will help for lighter materials
electrode positive will give you more penetration

have a read through Malcolm ark welding library I would post you a link but my computer is acting up and won't copy and paste it should be on the top of the page in the ark welding Forum
