Clarke welder and blue sparks

Had blue sparks come out the back of my welder and a fuse poped . Took the lid off and found this

Is it something that I have done? It was working fine and dandy, moved it to the other side if the car on my trolly and woundn't go . Thought it may be something to do with using an extension lead instead of direct in to the socket. Just a tought .

Ant idea's . It's stuill under warrenty . Do i need to take it to a clarke repair place or will machine mart (where i got it from) be able to sort it out?

Legally, machine mart have to get it repaired or replace it, as they are the supplier. The machine shouldn't do that, and it doesn't look like it's water ingress. Machine mart are used to replacing things that break, so there shouldn't be a problem!

You've popped a diode, good effort! They don't often go that spectacularly.

I doubt anything you did affected it, looks to me as if it has overheated where it's been swaged into the heatsink plates. This is one of the reasons I hate swged in diodes, they only have to come a little loose for this to happen.

As it's still under warranty, take it back to Machine Mart and demand a replacement.

Faulty Rectifier

It's very unusual for Clarke machines to fail under warranty although I have had a rectifier problem the same as your's, one out of over 150 160TE's over 3 years! so that's not bad at all. I now keep replacements in stock just in case.

No nothing you will have caused, just one of those Monday morning jobs! You can buy a Bentley & have problems - luck of the draw.

I have spare parts off the shelf for virtually every model of welder I've ever sold - still have a circuit board in stock for an Elandmig 175, sat there in a parts bin since 1998!
That's what sets apart us small, independant specialists from the 'make a fast buck' box-movers

Any thoughts of a source of diode board for the Clarke130en here in the states. Not having much luck trying to track one down. Thanks

A Harbor Freight 151 rectifier looks the same:Parts are cheap for Harbor Freight stuff.
If this part looks good to you.
Call 1-800-444-3353 tell them you need part #7 the rectifier rack for a model #55250 welder.
Please let me know if you do Okay on it.
