I've done a bit of looking around for a pipe bender. There are a lot of threads on the hydraulic one's and people have problems with them kinking or flattening pipe (sealing the ends up and filling with sand being an option)
I have recently seen this one and I was wondering if anyone had used...
I've found a few modern bikes disconnecting is not a problem as the connectors will only fit into one particuler place. If you do decide to remove quite a bit take pictures first, Lots of them. There the best referance for when your putting things back. Good see another biker on here.
I like all these suggestions. It's very easy to come up with a plan and get fixed on it then not see if there is a better way.
Below is what I'm looking at.
There are two drop down parts on either side of the engine though the scribble only shows the one.
I have through your suggestion been...
I've been trying to source these on line but not getting any joy withe sizes. If anyone has anysuggestion of a good suppier it would be appreciated. The engine is a Husaberg 650 single so the vibrations are going to be a factor.
Hopfully this one loads up better.
Thanks for all the quick responces. Especially like the tip on drilling the hole Hotrodder :clapping: It's the little tips like that that I need to learn. Once I get going with it I'll put some pictures up (mmmm maybe do a project thread)

I'm needing to weld 1in mild steel tube to 1/8in plate. There will be a plate at either end of the tube. It is a basic engine support on a motorcycle project.
The two ways I can see me doing this are
1/ cutting the tube 90 deg and welding it flat to the plate (see fig 2)
or
2/ drilling a...
Sorry bud the pic is misleading. The image is someone else's bike. The one i have has a mild steel sub frame. I probably wont be tackling that for quite a while.
The main thing I will be making is along the lines of steel bits that drop down from the main frame to the engine (the darker tubes...
Sorry to bring this thread back but I've got the funds to start looking for a welder. I'm still not sure weather to go Mig or DC Tig, I won't be doing any ali stuff more mild steel tubes like in the image above and also some thin stuff to for brackets.
I did enjoy doing Tig welding more than...
Hello to all.
As the title states I'm new here but I would like a little advise before I dive into welding.
I'd like to know your thoughts on which route to take, Mig, Tig, Arc.
I have dabbled lightly with Tig and Mig (only a day with each) but I was told I was better than the average...
