I finished my 4 years aprentiship last September doing plating. Mainly working in oil and gas but also doing renewables. It's good money which keeps me going but I know it's not the job for me but I am on the books so will do for another few years. I enjoy the grinding and welding but not in...
Mechanics ramp was free so thought I'd shutz underneath of blue mini. Found some rust.... So patched the hole and just seam sealer over the bits that are starter, will do for summer.

Ive been asked to make a gate that can be lifted off. Its for a shop front to stop people going in and smoking at night. Obviously i need it reasonably light, just made it out of 30x8 flat bar surround with 16mm twisted bar uprights but its far...
The women has got back in touch and has asked me if i can give her a cost she hasn't heard back from the other boy. She has said he wants something quite light so she can lift it out the way. she has said about regulations so isn't wanting a fixed one. she has said itl need to be about 6ft long...

Paul have you any photos of the jobs you done? I will keep it free standing to avoid the regulations.
brightspark...i wouldnt be on a welding forum if i was to use concrete haha
i thought 2 angles sitting up on thr outside which will allow the plate to sitt on then the yop bar snd bottom just use flat bar. i then thought to use 2 angles underneath, one to attatch it to step and other to asupport it.
Sorry its just for wheel chair. the size im not sure obviously would just be wider than door (not sure if door is wider for the wheelchair or not) as for length itl probably only be round about mtr to 2 mtrs i think
Ive been asked about a ramp into a front door for a disabled man but wasnt really sure how these were made. its only 1 step so not to high.
i thought of some angle as a frame with a angle onto the step and bolted. then some tred plate on top.
Has anyone done anything like this before...
