Wall plates I put on yesterday then found out they throw roof pitch off. Hence wanting no wall plate. Agree its the easiest but doesn't work with steel fame and ceder shingle pitch without increasing the main ridge height as well.

Reason I ask is it keeps the pitch the same as steel work. Steel frame is tied in and heavily over engineered as gantry runs down the frame. Frame was designed to support timber roof rafters along the rails.
