I had one of these CO2 heaters and it's 240v 150w just plug it in, it heats the gas as it comes out and reduces the splatter and never had trouble with the regulator freezing
Thanks for all the comments so far, can confirm the BOC label says Nitrogen and no mention of any mix etc, so I suspect it is pure Nitrogen - as far as I know nitrogen is also an inert gas, is there any danger to try it with MIG on some test piece?
I wanted to find out whether someone has...
I have been given a free pub size bottle and it has got Nitrogen N2 labels on the shoulder - it came from a old school workshop and no ones knows the history of the bottle so it could have been used for Mig / Argonshield refill, although the bottle looks fairly new.
The bottle has a female...
Great shout! Got some insulation tape just for the job.
Thanks everyone for all your excellent ideas, and hope this post will help others to persevere/restore their welding helmet in the future.
Bought this a few years ago as a back up, tested on a few test welds and very impressed for the price I paid (£25 at the time I think), then simply put it back in the box for storage.
Now last week I needed a replacement lid and wanted to use it, take it out the box and it does not darken at...

I have seen roofers remove asbestos roof tiles (like these below)...
The project is to install a downstairs loo in my own property (built in the 1950s), and I found these bitumen floor tiles under the existing flooring. I believe they do contain asbestos.
The tiles are approx 3mm thick, I forgot to take a photo and found one from the internet for reference.

Try clean the MAF.
Had a MK4 GTI 1.8T AGU 10 years ago 160k on the clock when I got it, similar symptom and showing no code.
Cleaned it with isopropanol alcohol, it runs perfectly.
