Been a while ey... So.. firstly I'm JUST about there with this poxy arsed blue ****.. I also appear to have got my picture order ballsed up.. Basically... Because it had stood so long my old battery which WAS new had died, the new new one was a different size so I had to make a new cage...
Thanks... it still needs a good mapping session though...
I've got no idea about track exploits.. it was never built as a track toy, I do plan on doing some European tours with it eventually so maybe A stop off at the ring or Spa...
I got asked to exhibit at the NEC mid Nov but my priorities...
Bit of a thread resurrection... had a request for updates on a Dutch peugeot forum so have copied my reply straight over to here...
Hi there...
Apologies... things have been busy with life.. moving + renovating home.. my family.. Work..
I have still been chipping away with this though...
Spent the morning tidying up/securing the harness in the engine bay .. a LOT of work trying ideas and attempting to keep it neat and reuse factory clips where possible... we'e getting close now...
Alright folks.....
Well... photobucket seems to have ruined most people's blogs ..
Ain' done much as I've been enjoying summer with the family... however... we'e currently at this point..
I'll never do another build of this magnitude... i did think about a cafe racer style bike, but i dont have a licence so whats the point....
IF... (and its a big IF) i ever get the urge again it'll probably be a buggy of some sort for the boy...
Alright folks... how are you all???
Right, been a bit busy recently... i could give you a list of excuses but basically... i dont have to explain myself to you lot :p :p :p :p
First up, started a new engine mount, but i'll show you more of that when i get the rest finished...
Hang on......
You mixed paint and a handful of dirt (im guessing) to replicate stone chip texture??
Errrrr why not just grab a tin of actual stonechip???
Well.... lets give these bits some TLC then...
The speedo deive has a nice billet bung already... and the matrix bypass pipework is all in... but you know... theres a LOT more potential i think.... lets see what i can conjure up
The torsion bars have to stay as they keep the trailing arms located on the beam.. the main aspect of the kit was to relocate the dampers and go from a VERY stiff unit operating on a 3:1 ratio to the wheel.. to a much more controllable 1:1 ratio where they are now..
Nah.. i just throw everything in a box and take it to Peterborough Plating.. they do all my zinc and anodising..
You could try Stefan Golesworthy on FB or instagram.. he refurbs beams and REALLY does do a great job.. he might be able to help
Alright folks??? Everybody good????
Got the rear suspension (and some other bits) blasted:
That lot got Zinc plated:
Rear beam assembled got powdercoated:
Made sure underneath was looking FRESH!!!!:
Rear trailing arms were treated to new seals/bearings and fitted up...
"Better" in what way???
Ive never seen anyone go to the trouble of recreating the bulkhead before.. Steering rack location is pretty critical so it'll be interesting to see how you retain the factory location as well as brace it onto your bulkhead to stop flex...
