45 psi is too low, set it to 4.5 bar (~68 psi). Air pressure too low usually triggers a safety switch preventing the plasma cutter to start an arc.
Have you actually tried to cut (putting the torch onto the workpiece) or did you just pull the trigger with the torch somewhere in the air?
HF...
Ok, 57 kg for the top, roughly 30 kg for the tubing. Where do you hide the remaining ~43 kg?
You should make the frame wider at the bottom. With only 400 mm it will not exactly give you a save stance.
Make sure you have some scrap metal to play with and tell us how you like the welder and your new hobby. Don't put the welding table near the end of your project list. Consider it a basic tool for a welder. Once you have such a table you'll never look back.
I have no knowledge about the Australian wiring. No idea whether or not 32amp means you have to use 1 of three phases from a 3-phase outlet, but I think there are 32amp receptacles available for 240V. Not the standard stuff, but available. The dealer or a local electrician should be able to give...
I think these could do. Hülsenmuttern-M10-verzinkt
M10
zinc plated
5mm allen wrench size
head diameter 20mm
shaft diameter 13mm
shaft length 13mm
total length 17mm
thread depth 10,5mm
The smaller machines will be more than enough for that task. If i had to decide between those 4 welders these are my 2 cents:
- A real TIG will join the club later, so the capability for TIG and stick doesn't really matter.
- You're right, the smaller Cigweld would be my last choice.
- When...
Well, inverters are smaller and more energy efficient, they provide more features, a very stable arc and usually a high duty cycle for the money.
Transformer based units are bulkier and heavy, especially when they have a duty cycle comparable to inverters. The required heavy duty transformers...
If you can afford the bigger unit and supply the necessary amps, then go for it. Even though the smaller one would do the job. But welders like to overbuild and there's hardly the case of having too much of a welding machine.
Please note:
- The TIG capability is scratch start only...
Gas should be correct.
But - frankly speaking - your welding machine was not exactly the best choice. I'm really sorry to pee on your bonfire, but neglecting that fact will not bring you any further. The welder has a basically fixed wire speed depending on the voltage setting, and believe it or...
I use inexpensive diamond grinding wheels for the tungstens like this one. I have a 600 and a 150 grit wheel.
Fast and cool grinding with those wheels installed on a cheap 150 watt grinder. Only disadvantage: you need a lathe or access to one to fit the wheels.
The Fronius manual says:
If any error message that is described here appears on the displays, then the fault is one that can only be put right by a service technician. Make a note of the error message shown in the display, and of the serial number and configuration of the power source, and get...
If I remember correctly there has been a 160A Tig-only machine "from" Rehmann. A very rare breed.
So there may be no way to switch off HF, no anti-stick and no arc force for mma. This unit could be sub par for an inverter when it comes to stick welding.
Only when you're single.
I don't think that being slapped, kicked or yelled at by swmbo when trying to lay a bead does any good to improve the welds...
I don't know their shipping charges to the UK, but at that price for a 8 ton version it's worth to contact the seller. ;)

When you remove the manifold, please work your way from the outer bolts to the centre ones. Cast iron manifolds tend to shrink significantly over time and removing some inner bolts first just because they were easy to remove will put incredible stress on the outer ones. I've seen shrinkage of...
Neither one. It's made by Awelco, an Italian company. Definitely better than most Chinese inverters.
Btw, the Güde website is wrong with the duty cycle, it's 100A/35%, not 15%.
