I would look at finding a part time welding course and get yourself on it. I would have thought there would be 'Introduction to MIG and TIG' course around your local area.
If you're new to all this and have not used a grinder before, get into the habbit of unplugging it when changing disks and always wear goggles.........I can not stress that enough!!!!!!!
Grinders can be lethal in the wrongs hands.
I used to work in an abattior and had to fix the machine that injected the water into big joints of beef. Horrible thing to, quite un-hygenic. Though hasn't put me off eating beef.
I wonder if he had sponsorship from Monster Energy to put all their stickers and the green lights on it. Perhaps that's why he is selling it as the contract is now finished.

I'd be tempted to take the motor to a garage and have it hooked up to the ecu interrogator to see if there are any faults that have occured.
They might do it for free or they might charge a little bit for the privilege.
If it's a minor fault you can then do the work yourself, if major then...
If I get time I'll take a drive to some local campsites and get some leaflets with websites and post 'em up on here and you can browse through.

How are you going to get the motors to your workshop/place of doing up?
I should imagine that you would need some form of insurance policy, Traders?
If you transport them on a trailer you may need to look at getting a tachograph in the tow vehicle as it would be used for business...
