My Esab one went yesterday - that turned out to be the battery. I guess yours must have a battery hidden inside somewhere? From a quick Google, you have to prize the cartridge open on some types?
Here are some pictures of mine from the inside (from the outside they are just plain board). They are 5 foot high and you can get an idea of the width by the join in the ply sheet. I made some adjustable hinges, and also catches to hold them open. I was particularly chuffed with that aluminium...
I made a couple of gates not a million miles away from your sizes recently. I used 50 by 50 by 4, mainly because I had some left over. Mine are pannelled with 12mm marine ply bolted to the box section frame. They are super strong - so strong that I had to drive the car onto one side and clamp a...
I read somewhere that the 'click' type don't work very well for very low torque? I bought a Norbar one for my new bike:

I've used it a...
Just looking at that listing in your screengrab - is that the price per rod or the price of the bundle pictured?? I remember them being pretty expensive (as mentioned by Decal).
....aha, so the 986 are TIG brazing rods - I thought so!
Just noticed - I said 986 not 968 - miss-remembered the number between upstairs and down - probably why they didn't come up when I googled!!
No special torch required but I wonder if it has to be DC?? I have used SIFBRONZE No. 8 but I also have a pack labelled (by me) 986 - I can't remember what they are.
My dad and I used to use an old fixed shade mask - I'm guessing 9.... or 11? As I understand it (and as others have said) any mask will block the harmful UV so I guess it's more down to comfort what shade you use?
It is probably 25 years of more since I sparked one of these up but I can't see...
Looks a lot like this beastie. My late dad's welder. When I was a small boy (I'm 65 now) I wrote off to the company for a new settings label for the top of it. I still use it occasionally - it welds just fine. I made a little conversion to be able to plug in my dinse leads from other welders.
We used to carry map and compass as a backup but don't any more. My wife and I both have Anquet on our phones. I always have a sizeable power bank with me. What could possibly go wrong!
I can't say I have noticed that, although I mainly use it for navigating rather than recording tracks.
What I have noticed is that my Locus maps recently seems to miss some trackpoints when recording a track. Yesterday a 204km bike ride came out to about 197 on Locus due to 'thrupeny bitting'...
I use (and have for many years) an Etrex 30 for cycling. It's a robust device - they do fail eventually when the rubber wears through over the buttons. The later version Etrex (like the 32x) have a higher resolution screen but it is dimmer - more difficult to read in normal light without the...
Before I discovered I could buy a spring from Meddings I was looking at getting one made by a spring specialist - from memory it would have been about the same money but then there is the problem of working out the required spec for the spring.
I bought a new spring for my drill - Meddings still sell them:

I remade the end of my original spring several time before giving up and forking out (then) £50 for a replacement = I've had no bother since.
I got some bags for my bigger Numatic from Avern Cleaning Supplies - they were the best I could find for price on those particular bags at the time. I'm pretty sure they are the genuine article. Might be worth a look.
