We've been very impressed with the R-Tech but I suggest the watercooling is pretty essential as the torch overheats very quickly if you are going to be welding more than a couple of inches at a time.
After sales service has been first rate.
Haven't updated for a while but here's the workshop in use
Next job is to get a decent driveway of scalpings down to it.
And a lean to shed on the side for storing bigger parts.

My new water cooler arrived from R Tech today. Writtern right across the front are the words "Read the instruction manual before use".
Unfortunately there were no instructions with it and R Tech go home at 5.30pm and don't work on Saturdays.
I hooked it all up OK but what I'm not...
Why have I never thought of putting my tooling and bar stock in a roller cabinet??
Great piece of work. My stand is fine so I'll not be replacing it but I'll certainbly steal the roller cabinet idea :clapping::clapping:
I've recently done exactly that and it worked out very well. You do need a bit more than a DIY blowlamp to to get it up to temperature though as alloy wheels don't half dissipate heat.
Should go without saying but check carefully to make sure that the damage is limited to the scrape - no...
I'm no expert welder but I do know a bit about Jags and rust.
I tend to weld for a second, off for a couple to let it cool, weld for a second and so on. Stitch welding. Keep the power up to get good pentration but don't keep going long enough to let the metal start running out.
Anyway...
Nice job.
The only thing I'd suggest for the future is that you tap the threads before welding or at least before you put the lid on. That way you don't have the fun of getting all the bits of swarf out
Nice work. The only thing I would question is the size of the level platform at the top of the ramps. It looks like it could have been a little larger. I think what you do need to add it something to stop you going straight over the end. Ramps usually have a barrier of some sorts. An...
Don't panic Chedz, she's tied all around with a beam on top of the old wall. A structural engineer was consulted informally and the only change I made was to slightly reduce the size of the beam suggested for the central rafter (on the grounds that structural engineers will calculate what is...
I made a freak bike a while back but haven't done much welding since apart from the odd repair when two bits of metal parted company. The past year I've been busy restoring the old house we bought so I was due a bit of play time.
There were a couple of old concrete sectional garages in the...
