All the steering racks are the same on CRX's/civics. Its the different hubs on the VTEC model that makes you need a different TRE's.
The 16V ones are also a slightly different shape, bodging them is just a headache tbh. Its been done by many many people over the years and just causes problems...
Hi,
The steering rack tracking rods are actually the same size as the 16V model. Its due to the different hubs that we meed to use smaller TRE's.
We could cut the trackind rodsdown to compensate for the longer track rod ends but im sure many people dont want the hassel on then re-threading...
Hi,
Im sure most of you must remember the Honda CRX vtec's (Pre 92 shape)? Well i own one.
There has never been any 'pattern' track rod ends available for the Vtec models. People on the owners club have resorted to use another CRX models (16 valve) and have cut them down to fit. This makes...
Hi,
Im interested in some split rims that are for sale on the net. They are quite rare and going at a decent price.
However, One of the rims has 2 cracks in it. Im wondering if these can be welded? If so is it safe? Will the crack grow once welded? How much would it rougly cost?
Pics of...
Hi,
Im looking for a tool that i can use to cut this rust out. Iv got a compressor but i dont want to use it due to noise so need a electric powered tool really. Will a dremel be able to cut all this out? Need a tool thats easy to use in cramped places...

Yeah the car is getting fully restored. At the moment iv stripped the interior out, engine will be coming out. Front end has been drilled off and a new one in its place. I preped the whole car ready for a respray then noticed the rust lol.
Il be striping this car as much as i can but i need...
Thanks for the advice.
Yeah, it is a big job and will be quite difficult but to be honest if i do scrap it for another one i will have to do some welding on the same places as these cars are very prone to rust in these areas.
The sills also require patching up but im not sure how to tackle...
Will the car still pass MOT if i cut the rust out, make a repair section that is say 5MM bigger than the hole iv cut out and just weld that on top of the hole? Its a little easier that way, especially when doing the holes near the seats because i cant clamp the new metal in place if i cut a...
Hi,
Im new to this forum. Im 16 from Huddersfield.
Iv got a Corolla GTI that i purchased when i was 14. However its been parked in my garage/drive for all that time lol.
I purchased the car back in Feburary 2006, I had new arches welded in and sent it off for a cheap respray (All done...
Im hoping this pic will help explain my problems. Basically as someone said i get pain before air.
Diagram.
Needle A is pressed by the trigger before needle B (I think this is the reason i get paint before air because needle A is for paint and B is for air.
Now if i unscrew the nut...
Il have a look to see how the needle is seating, its probably something really simple.
Its hard to explain how it leaks - im going to give it one more try
As i release the trigger and it gets to about 1/2cm of leverage before it is released, paint will just drip out (Just like...
Yeah, as i release the trigger it leakes from the nozzle. It doesnt spray out it just leaks out (Basically like when you press the trigger down with no air supply).
