I started clay pigeon shooting about a year ago.
I've recently joined a small club that have a few traps of their own, but the more
variety the better.
I've got a reasonably beefy mig welder sitting in the garage not getting much use and
would like have a bash at making a (simple) clay...
What I don't understand is why more people aren't being jailed for this.
Most of the things being bought on the ripped off cards are physical items that have to
be delivered somewhere. Surely it's not beyond the wit of the police to track these down
and arrest whoever's responsible.
One...

Get yourself down to the local dump, it's amazing what people throw away.
I got two frames to make a chopper out of and even pulled out a bike for my daughter
that only needed a brake cable replaced and it was perfect.
Now every time we go to the dump she thinks she's going to come home...
Result!
Car passed the MOT OK, the guy said that he didn't look at it very hard but it wasn't
blowing which is all that's required for the MOT.
£230 odd (front tyres, brake pipe, service & MOT) to keep the car on the road for
another year can't be too bad.
Nial.
Are the rear shock mounts stiff enough laterally to take the weight of the car without
distorting when the shells on its side?
I'd have thought that if you were doing boot floor repairs the whole thing would distort
quite badly?
Nial.
Bugger, I was in Hellfrauds to get some Gun-gum and jubilee clips just in case. I didn't
read this until late last night and had gone ahead with mild steel wire. This just has to last long
enough to get through the MOT. If it cracks badly again I'll spend a day and get the manifold
off for...

Hmm, this might be worth trying underneath the gun-gum 'patch'.
If I run...

I've had another look at it and think I _might_ be able to get a jubilee clip round it,
perhaps with one at 90 degrees round the down pipe to hold it in place.
If I can get this on then I'll pack the crack with gun...

We've got a P reg civic that's still going fairly well but at 11 years old isn't worth a lot.
It's just passed the MOT except the exhaust manifold's got a 5cm crack which is a fail.
Unfortunately the catalytic convertor's integrated with the manifold and the only source
of a new one seems...
No Jewel and Esk.
It was an introduction to all welding processes so we have 6 or 7 weeks
of oxy-acetylene, mma, mig and brazing, with a tig demo.
You then had 5 weeks to 'play' with whatever you wanted. Most of us
practiced with Mig and OA, a couple of the guys had opted to do Tig
from...
Our local dump allows me to take whatever I can get out of the skip as long
as I don't climb in. I've taken a few dumped kids bikes to make my girls a
push along tricycle before they could handle pedals and have made a 'chopper'
out of two nearly complete bikes I scavenged.
I've also...
I've been doing an 'Introduction to Welding Processes' course at the local
college of knowledge for the last 15 weeks.
As well as realising that the ancient mig machine I've got is a complete POS
I've also learned of the joys of stick welding. I've been really surprised how
easy it is to...
Actually Mr Equip, while you're at it is there any chance of a price for the 150TE
(this is the top of their range 'normal' mig isn't it?).
After using some of the mig machines in the welding course I'm doing I've
realised that the (very) old BOC badged machine I've got is a POS.
Thanks...
I got a cheapie off ebay and have reverted to my old 'normal' one, there's
enough of a flash at the start of a weld to put me off.
I'm doing a welding course at the local college of knowledge and I think they've
got decent automatic helmets when we're doign MIG and TIG so I might
bring...
I haven't Googled that yet but I can well believe it. There was a cure for cancer in the 1950's & that was covered up - Oh consipiracy!

Generating an electrolysed (sp?) mixture of oxygen and hydrogen from water on the fly isn't
difficult, a few companies are selling products...
