Hi
Great conversion. I actually run granada cosworth as my daily driver , it's now on about 165/170 thou and runs like a steam train. The other 'main' problem seems to be the rocker / cam covers leaking , I changed mine last year along with fitting a new chain tensioner.
I did a similar...
Hi
I've got a similar set that I used when I made a 6 branch manifold and downpipe , ended up cracking one of the cast pieces. Wether it was because the pipe was to thick I don't know , it can still be used with care

Hi
I've been using the snap-on version of this welder for the last 20 odd years with the odd maintinance to it and have been very happy with it. I've used it on everything from car repair work , to build a pair of gates , to building the garage we now use with no big problems. The car work...
Hi
I'm the same as angusdog and wear glasses , over the last 25 years working as a mechanic and welder I've never yet come across a pair of goggle's that will fit over glasses and either be comfortable or not steam everything up. I've always used a full face mask but even that doesn't stop...
Hi
We had to renew the flat roof on my parents kitchen / spare room extension last year. We had used felt before and found it didn't last very well , so tried a rubber membrane. Because of the un-standard size we had to have it made to fit ( 2 pieces that are bonded together ) which was then...
Hi
We did a pick-up convertion with a toyota crown estate several years ago ( It's a 1972 car with seperate chasis ) but went with keeping the rear doors only making them narrower , so we'd got somewhere for storage
I did hear about the dvla tightening the rules as regard to...
Hi
We've got one of that exact model , had it for at least 20 years and it's led a hard life as it get used for everything from car repairs to heavy 6-8mm steel plate ( probably pushing it a bit ). My dad bought a slightly bigger clarke welder as an upgrade when it started playing up , what...
Hi
When i painted the engine on my toyota I used some engine paint that I bought from frost , it was high temp and a gloss altho' I brushed it on. The thing is decent paint isn't going to be dead cheap

Ha , been sitting in my shed for the last 10 years and my dad's garage before that.
The original idea was to have both wheels offset and use a rear hub brake , but after my dad made the front one it was decided not to do the other. From memory , I think it took a good couple of weeks building...
Hi
Thought I'd show you a bike me and my dad built about 25 years ago for a carnival. It had an offset front wheel , extended front forks , 3 spd gears plus some other bits
I had great fun riding this during the carnival , the rest of my family were on various other types of bikes -...
Brilliant project. Funnily enough I think I've got a wiring diagram around somewhere for an s13.
Believe it or not I needed it when I fitted an 200 fuel tank into my '78 toyota cressida ( couldn't find an original )

Hi
It could be a bad battery or the sensor itself playing up.When mine played up last it was the battery ( mines not solar ) not sure if the solar mask's have a battery back up
Adam.
Hi
Great looking bike
The last bike I 'adjusted' was this one
Me and my dad made it for a carnival years ago the forks are 2 pairs that are welded together ( second set was off a grifter that had hit a wall - but the 'bend' was right ) and an offset front wheel that my dad built up...
Hi
We've got the same welder , when we had to do ours we got one through snap-on. It was a couple of years ago but they still get the other parts for them ( shields , nozzles , wire feed , etc )
I've also seen parts on 'ebay' for them.
Adam
Hi
These bikes remind me off the one me and my dad built / made for a carnival years ago. The fork were extended and it was fitted with an offset front wheel , which my dad built ( my parents did own a bike shop when we were in our teens ). We did think about haveing both wheels offset but...
Hi
I agree with above , 2 peices with rust in between pushing them apart , seen it loads of times on our old toyotas.
You'll probably find that the shiney peice in the middle is basically a shiney peice of rust and if you give it a knock it'll go. It needs to be cut bigger and replaced...
Hi
It's actually labled as - ford red engine enamel - and it's heat rated , plus the engine's now in the car and running with no loss of paint altho the exhaust wrap has changed colour
I take it the heat gun is to remove the paint , I can't see that it would do any damage (...
