I have been singing praises for British gas as they arranged to get the boiler delivered this morning to be installed today
Until the fitter arrived and said you cannot have the vaillant on a single pipe system so you have to go back to the Worcester with the extra gas pipework and by the way...
I very much appreciate all the advice and guidance and didn't want it to leave anyone upset.
The wide experience that we have on this forum unfortunately can sometimes lead to polarised and/or different opinions
Any complex systems will sometimes have issues either in a particular model or...
An outer panel bracket has pulled off body of the boiler and the engineer (he said he didn't do it) says it is leaking fumes. Didn't trigger the co alarm though :dontknow:
I am told they Cannot get a new heat exchanger/ case due to its age
It is at least 27 years old so reasonable to replace it
No I am not offering a trade :D
Her old ideal gas boiler has been condemned during a service and turned off and British gas offering a choice of
Worcester greenstar RI 24kw or
Vaillant ecoFIT Pure 425 regular
Any knowledge as to which way to jump?
Either way it will be under contract with...
I would agree but the wheel leaked with one tyre, then it leaked with a brand new tyre, then it leaked with the brand new tyre and sealant
Each time the specialist tyre place said it was corrosion on the rim which I thought was really poor considering that the first tyre was the original...
Seems to be a Mazda thing, our 2016 Mazda 3 had one that went down slowly and having the tyre refitted with sealant didn't help. Ended up getting a new rim. Try the main dealers for prices as they beat a number of the online sellers when I bought that
interested but lacking in knowledge to give good advice
I would have assumed that the twisting of a roll bar would cause the plating to crack and flake, in much the same way that the powder coat normally does
I haven't ever seen galvanised or zinc sprayed car springs so I presume they aren't...
But there are also internal links that don't work such as the links on the Home page so it really is an issue
they are definitely are case sensitive, which is daft but the way it is
No, a scope is used to diagnose a systems board (audio, video, computing whatever) as a whole. You may be able to work out that a capacitor has failed by the waveforms showing on the scope but you would need an amount of expertise to understand what you were looking at
Unless you are working on...
On the landline which is going to be discontinued at the end of next year. Better to get a system now which is ready for that
Edit: unless they carry a mobile and are happy using it
The ageuk one my mum has is fitted with a sim card and a backup battery so it is broadband and mains independent
The pendant has a fall monitor and a call button
If only I could get her to wear the damn thing, apparently they are for old people
Turned out total weight was only around 140kg so he has taken photos and sent those back to quoters to see if they amend the prices. Thanks to everyone that has responded. I'll let you know who he settles on and, if I remember, how well it goes
Just getting some, this quote was from a place I have used before
transport was on top
Two pieces have been galvanised before so there is an additional charge for stripping that but previous experience was that was a low fixed cost
Is this still based mostly on weight?
A friend just got a price guide of £850 plus vat on about 200kg of stuff but he described it by size rather than weight
One bit is a car chassis and half a dozen other odd bits like wishbones
I was sort of expecting more like £250 - £300
Is that the...
Definitely a timer as I put the immersion one day at christmas because of all the showers and forgot to turn it off until I read the meter at the end of Jan :ashamed:
Buy the best timer you can find as mine only didn't have one as the previous one melted and I needed the immersion quickly so I...
