As title suggests I'm thinking of getting a metal cutting rip saw/circular saw. I have a specific job in mind needing to cut 12mm off the top flange of an RSJ but would use it in future too and seems a lot easier and neater than angle grinder or reciprocating saw which are my metal cutting...
Looking at fitting a towbar to the wife's meriva B. I've fitted a few in the past but they all had normal wiring so simply spliced into the rear lights. I believe this one has can-bus so would need a relay.
Universal kits are about £25 and vehicle specific about £125. Looking at fitting...
As title suggests what's the best way to store an engine that's not going to be used for a while?I
I'm talking specifically about 2 strokes in this instance which may be different from 4 strokes but would welcome any advice on either! Run till empty, fill with aspen/motomix, .....?

Was changing some fibre cement roof panels today. One Milwaukee "wrecker" multi material reciprocating saw blade managed to cut through a grand total of four 6mm twist nails holding them in! They were £26 for 5 blades so over a fiver each!! After taking 20 minutes to get through the four nails I...
Got a noco gb70 here. Used many times on motorbikes, cars, vans, tractor and 7.5t horse box. Think it's 2000A and was about £160 3 or 4 years ago. Cheaper ones were available but it's lasted really well and I've been very happy with it. Those 4000A gooloos look very good and with twice the...

Was thinking these will do the job! Look flush fitting so perfect as wires will come down through plasterboard. Some of the others look like the cable is surface mounted.
As the title suggests I'm wondering if there's any recommendations for fitting spotlights Vs led battens in my garage come workshop. The space is 2.8m wide and 6m long. Od like it to be universally bright all over so would probably need a good few spots. I was leaning towards 4 longish led...
I had wondered about just sticking the ring on anyway? The old piston and cylinder are slightly scored and I'm considering getting a new cylinder kit anyway so what's the worst that can happen?
As for the "big bore" kit I'm not particularly bothered about increasing the bore. Seems you can...
Update time;
I cleaned the piston and barrel with the intention to just put the saw back together at no cost. After buying three different bits to make an adapter I eventually did do a pressure and vac test and crank seals are good, held 10psi on pressure -10 on vacuum, both held whilst crank...
Time has come for me to look at a new van. Got my eye on an iveco daily. 2015ish. As a builder I like the slightly more utilitarian nature, the rugged build, 3.5t tow rating. Only work locally so not too fussed about creature comforts. So firstly I'm sure some have experience, ideas, opinions...
That'd be great thanks! Ordered the plug. I know the thread has gone a little off course but I created it so....
Fingers crossed seals are good in which case I'll clean up the old pot, piston and rings and reassemble for nowt. If seals are gone ind I need to spend I'll replace them and...
There's no rubber boot, it's like a bakelite plastic spacer! I assume the small hole and channel is the "pulse" line. I was thinking of putting the plug in, blanking the inlet, and outlet and tapping one with the hose tail. Might look for a sparkplug adapter!
Funny you should say that I only finished painting the floor last week! Honest! Used Jotun 91 2 part resin in battleship grey I think! I've only swept it 3 times a day since! Electric opener sectional door finally wired in this weekend just gone. Just need a new triumph and I'm complete!
Yep! I got the wrong thing last week, finally just got the right thing through the post today, googled how to do the test, got some rubber to blank off the inlet and outlet but then found out there's no "pulse" line which is where to connect the mityvac to!! There's no hose connecting the carb...
