I know I definitely need to replace the run from the loft to the garage and not use steel pipe for conduit between the two buildings, we're thinking that the house needs a rewire, certainly a main distribution board, just asking the forum about types of distribution board for the garage after I...

Was thinking of something like this, doing away with the armoured cable coming in from the bottom that's feeding an outdoor plug..just having the lights and plug sockets.
The water was running down the steel pipe from the house end which takes the power to the fusebox, coming out of the pipe the other end inside the garage and dripping directly onto the fuse box :ashamed:
Hi all, got in from work last night and missus said that the power had gone off, she had turned the main breaker back on and it had come on and stayed on.
I had recently put a small freezer in the garage so wondered if it had tripped something so I had a look.
Turned the garage light light...
Got it off quite easily actually, managed to prise apart the spinning collar that was really soft metal, once that was off I just hammered on a 19mm socket and it undid no mither, got a couple of new nuts from GSF.
That would probably work but I don't really want to put any locking nuts on anymore so don't really want to be buying a key from the main dealers..
I've looked at a couple of YouTube hacks one looked like it may work, it involves chipping the outer edge off the locking wheel nut off then...
Had an mot fail on a tyre so went and got a new one on,tyre fitter struggled to key the locking nut out,did get it eventually but it got destroyed in the process..
I'm just putting a normal nut back on that, but there's one other wheel with a locking nut and i can't get that off, I just want to...

Hi Bryan,
No problem at all we can sort this for you.
There are 2 ways we can do this.
Both ways include testing and inspecting existing installation in property and upgrading distribution board.
Ideally we would come out and do a full test...
Hi folks,Hoping do some auto repair work, am in a new property and wondering if I need a dedicated fuse box or similar added to the house distribution board.
This is whats presently there,I've got the three welders below.
my workshop is a good 40foot from the fusebox.
I do have the buzz box...
It was a surprise birthday gift..
It's clear but with green mesh reinforcing.
I'll probably chuck a tarpl like cover over it through winter that I can strap down better.
The neihbour has lost one already, it would either collapse, flap about and rip or take off.
I have a cheap polytunnel, you are supposed to bury the bottom edges or weigh them down plus anchor the frame.
I struggled as theres not enough spare polysheet to bury, I weighted it down with bricks and zipped tied the vertical poles to battens that I hammered into the ground.
The frame is push...
Hi,recently moved house, the shower is fed from the combi boiler but it looks like the previous owner had an electric shower before and has left the string pull switch.
It's still live, lights up I've, I've turned it off at the fuse .

I found when living on my own years back after 3-months the house didn't get any dustier and the windows any dirtier, in fact they cleaned themselves periodically.
