all above, learned to wipe on ,wipe off before it drys, i just bought upol from amazon £20, before i just used petrol but sparingly and with caution,& never ever had any problems or complaints afterwards.
as above, i was a panel beater for 20+ years ,only had a standard sykes pickavant hammer & flat dolly, used to borrow workmates slapping file ( your 2nd picture) when needed. shrinking was done with a gas torch and a wet cloth ie rapid cooling.

Get yourself on to the Gunman channel on you tube , he will show you whats required , rather than me trying to explain, as norsa said , easiest way as base your repair ,then dropletcoat to fade out into panels adjacent on both sides if you get what iam at, keep your adjacent panels masked...
