I picked the 250 TT engine up for 60 quid with the idea that I was going to strip it down and rebuild it over a winter as something to do but when I got it home we decided to see what the compression was like and with the starter still on it it we just find a jump pack on on and compression was...
It's only an old 250 superdream, just a bit belt and braces as the folded steel the original brackets go through is 10 mm thick. It's more an aesthetic choice than a practical one
2x10mm steel plate. I haven't got either plate or drill bits hole saws etc that size. I saw before I go and make the plunge and buy stuff I'm probably only ever going to use once I'd see if anybody else had the equipment and could knock it up
Steel tube will be welded into it and a mounting rubber into that
It has to be 28 mm minimum and maybe up to 0.5 mm over? I really don't know how much tolerance is in a 28mm drill bit but I was just envisaging somebody with a decent pillar drill and bloody big bits.
Hi guys, I really am not to sure where to put this so thought I'd start here...
I have extended a swing arm on a beach racer, off road fun bike. I need to move the shocker mounts forward (raise the rear a bit and keep their running angle) so I need two plates making.
I work away all week and...
Cheers guys, was scratching my head over the schematic last night, didn't make sense, woke up this morning and bingo.
240v ordered plus a couple off piggyback connector
Really appreciate the help, thank you
Hi brainy ones. I'm in the process of throwing a eurotorch on the wolf 140 "professional" and need to fit a solenoid.
(Disclosure, I'm doing the torch because I'm out of gas due to the last handle leaking half a bottle away while I gave the missus a "minute spare"... Plus the original torch was...
Normally yes, but I'm wary of the volts etc. If I can buy an actual replacement I would prefer that... And this is a guy who thinks the elven shaving fairy is a pain in the ****...
Ok, I've picked up a dual voltage 3 phase that's been bridged to star.
I need it as delta.
Easy, move tags 1,2 &3, job done.
I've tag 1
I've tag 2
I've no tag three and I can not for the life of me work out its name to hunt tag 3 on eBay... Any suggestions?
Well, I've enjoyed this read. Fascinating. Loving the idea tbh.
I've a really old lathe that I'm tempted to play around doing this sort of thing when I've eventually finished getting it back up to working.
Thanks for sharing
So I picked up a 6" 4 jaw independent chuck for an ok price today, but the back plates no use to me (seems to be about 1.75" X 5tpi) so I'm going to have to sort that. Any suggestions as to where I can get something that will need minimal work to make fit?

I had some large Behringer self powered speakers that really worked well in the room, and a set of celestion that gave me a real world equivalent (they were the same ones i had in the house and i knew how both sounded so could dial in fairly well)
but too many years playing punk badly on bass...
