Pulling down a 6m shop front hording (in a shopping mall).
Breaking up plasterboard and disposing of the metal 'stud'
The stud was 6m so folding it into 3 (still 1 piece) and throwing it into massive container skips.
Typically whilst throwing the last one it wobbled in the air as I was...
Agreed!
Always works for me. Defo need a 4lb-er to hammer it home though.
May sound (and look) a bit pikey but it's very cheap and very quick.
Obviously attach a decent breaker bar to it, and try to use a 1/2" fitment rather than 3/8".
Great update :D
Lovely looking, purposeful security door and superb attention to detail may I add :clapping:.
I've just made one myself but no where near as neat as yours.
I have the same mounting issue and didn't even know about thunderbolts. So thanks for sharing.

Hi Alex,
For the arches I would buy replacement 'repair panels' from somewhere like Hadrian Panels (click here)
I've used their repair panels a few times on E30's and find them great value for money. Plus one of the directors is a customer of mine.
Obviously you won't need the entire...
Excellent!
Fantastic project Richard!
It's certainly something fresh on an R53 Mini.
Having done roof and panel work on my E30 race car I know how rewarding and enjoyable this can be.
It's really great to see it clearly detailed with lots of pics too.
Goodluck with the rest of project...
Hi guys,
This may be a little late now for the OP but it may be of some use for future.
NOTE: These are NOT my pictures. I found them years ago on a forum and saved them as they looked interesting :welder:
Cheers,
James :D
Good info there. Appreciated mate :D.
Let us know how your new 300 does. Would love mine this side of xmas but understand they are made to order from Weldy. No probs, Jan it is for me fingers crossed.

Great project.
Good to see another one being saved ! :D
If it's any use to you (as i know 02 bits are getting thin on the ground nowadays) we dismantled a LHD 2002 earlier in the year (i'd have to check what year it was but 74 rings a bell). Anyway shell got snapped up fairly quickly but...
Ah yeah thats probably it. Haven't seen it yet but its a very close match name wise etc.
Good find on that info, so will bear that in mind.
Its currently looking like i will be purchasing a Portamig in January from Weldquip.
Everywhere i look i'm being pointed towards this route - plus...
Totally agree....
Just been reading through some old threads regarding Sealey vs Portamig etc.
40a i think is still not low enough for the panel work i mainly do.
Everything so far is pointing me towards a Portamig and ive already scrapped the Sealey idea i think. They wanted £400 for it...
The bodyshop next door to us have a welder for sale.
Its been used just twice and is now back in its packaging and pretty much brand new state.
Its a Sealey SuperMig 220
Here's the spec... http://www.expresstools.co.uk/ishop/692/shopscr2688.html

James :D
Hi guys,
thanks for all the replies so far :)
The reason i am needing the coding qualification (unsure on which specific type yet) is because to obtain an FIA certificate for the rollcage, which is supplied by a company in kit form - as 95% of cages are, which allows the car to pass a...
Yeah i'd agree with that. I use it quite regularly (sort of every other day really). But it is DIY work yes. Not currently professional use. But depending on how the training and certificated BS4872-standard test goes, it may start edging that way as to get a FIA certificate for the cage and...

Hi guys, my first post here so 'hi'
I currently have a SIP Migmate 105 Turbo which i bought last xmas for work on my cars (as well as the odd MOT failure welding for customers at our garage).
Its now faulty and is being returned and refunded today or tomorrow.
I am planning on doing a...
