I have a Vauxhall Nova and will shortly be attempting to replace a whole complete sill section (passenger side).
What I want to know is on the bottom line (the bit thats spot welded to the chassis) hows the best way to attach it?
Puddle weld or 1 long continuous weld?

Was doing a search on lap welding and from the general concensus it seems that if the car's a keeper then lap welding is a no no. I'm planning on replacing my nova rear 1/2's shortly and thought laping the joint would make sense (from a clean line perspective) just making sure a ruddy good bead...

I'll probably go back over the rivitted bits and spot weld them - just to give it an extra bit of reinforcement...

Oddly I've just shedded out a wad of cash on a welder and joggler today.
machine Mart - £38.00 for a joggler and hole punch. Did a little practice when I got in tonight and it works a treat!
