I've spilt gallons of the stuff and it's never left a residue on lockblock or concrete after evaporating. Dunno about grout, but I'd say give it a good scrub with detergent, rinse, and leave it for a week or so and see if anything visible's left.
Been in oil industry since leaving school 30+ years ago, worked up to offshore installation manager for the last few years but just got laid off due to a change of owners - that's why I've been so quiet on here.
Currently working on finding a new job... there are a few on the horizon though...
Great, thanks, now got a couple of cans ordered off the interwebs.
I'll have to wait for summer until we see +5 degrees here though....
I'm planning making a SHS stand for the wee bandsaw to replace the woeful pressed steel one it comes with, and the saw itself could do with a bit of a...
That is looking awesome Andy, really nice job. I'm looking for that same colour of hammered finish to paint my new-to-me 6x4 bandsaw - what colour of Rustoleum is it exactly - does it have a name?
Yeah, definitely. I have now removed the interior trim/sound deadening, as well as the tar board under the passenger seat (what a horrid job that was, had to chisel it all off). I'm working on getting the underseal off the outside too, for the same reason.
The new patch panel comes joggled but I'm going to cut that off and butt weld it in place.
I've been removing the underseal, and found that the body filler woes extend a bit further than I'd thought. Not a show-stopper though, just uncovered a couple of previous weld repair which are not too bad...
Fully agree with the points made on the jacking point being omitted, for me it's more just a "cosmetic" thing to make it look original. But if I'm putting it on I want it to be functional, even though I'll never use it.
A couple of rods, sticking out of the wall, does for me. My Myford wheels are just stuck on there at the side of the lathe. But I've only got a dozen or so.... seems to be enough for everything I've needed so far though.
I'd love to have the spare wall space to have a changewheel shadow-board! :D
Hi folks,
I just received this "pattern part" from a VW Beetle "specialist". It's a jacking point.
I am shocked at the ridiculously bad quality, but can't really be bothered sending it back, and as it seems to be of fairly thick steel sheet I'll probably just fettle it. Won't be using them again...
Yeah @EddyP I think this would be my first choice as well. Having access to the back of the hole makes it a bit less of a nightmare.
Failing that, make up a drill bit guide, bolt it on using the lower intact hole, and go at it very gently with a TCT burr or small cylindrical grinding stone...
I don't actually do those calcs by hand at work but I have to be able to for certification reasons. Same as a lot of useless certs I need to keep valid that I don't use.
I don't know any spherical trig past knowing how to calculate the volume of a sphere, which comes in handy now and again.
My compressor setup also has a leak somewhere which I really must get around to finding. I suspect it's on the piping to the additional air receiver on the outside wall, as I don't hear any tell-tale hissing noises inside. Some soapy water will spot the problem easily enough though, it's just...
Quite agree with AJelectronics post about dangerous road planning. I have had a few close calls with those sticking-out islands/bollards at night, they are a liability in my opinion.
Another ridiculous "initiative" in the nearest town to me is that they have removed all road markings and give...
In my experience the benefit of being a manager is in being able to get things done the way you want, after having seen plenty bad management in the past I get satisfaction from doing things better.
I'm in the position that I do work long hours when at work, but as I work offshore, it doesn't...
Easy outs are the work of the devil. I broke two off in glowplugs and had no end of bother getting them out. They laugh at cobalt drills. Now I would try every other option first. I threw all my easy-outs away after that last carry-on.
