Thought it might be a small mill rather than a drill. Has a fine adjustment dial and lock on the Z (vertical) axis. Not sure if this is common on drills.
Now I just have to find some T-bolts for the slots in the carriage and I'm sorted.

Can anybody identify this pillar drill. Bought it from a neighbour but has no name on it anywhere apart from "English Electric" on the motor.
Works brilliantly, no wobble, smooth positive action. Needs a bit of TLC, possibly a new belt and maybe some rewiring but otherwise seems sound...
Phoned up Russel Gas the AP dealer in Edinburgh to find out that they use to rent space to AP but no longer do. Falkirk is the nearest dealer apparently, so phoned them to inquire about a Y cylinder of Argoshield light or equivalent and got:

As I'm living a wee bit out of town now the Sighthill supplier will be best. I'll pop in when I'm next passing. Will probably try to get a Y as space is now really a problem as it'll sit on the back of the welder.
