Hi,
first thought was an air-chisel...but the metal may be a bit thick.
Is there anything sharp that can attach to a JCB-type of beast and slice through 4mm steel?
Next thought is if the steel's worth £1000 as scrap and you can buy them at £400 (maybe less if it's a damaged one?)...
Hi,
strewth this is an old one!
I found the plans on Ebay some time ago. Didn't cost much as I recall.
Designed by someone in the UK who makes them up for sale but also sells the plans for DIY builders.
Unfortunately they're said to have id codes in them so I don't want to give out...
Hi,
on the outer sill there's usually a couple of 'raised sections' in the lower edge, about 1.5" x 0.5" that act as drains.
Always seem to be done on the Fords...

Hi,
I assume you mean putting a vice on another shelf or bracket, not on the welder?
It should be OK from a current/return path point of view, but if it's above the welder then while welding on it I'd be watching for spatter (or grinding dust) dropping onto the welder. Maybe less of a...
Hi,
it was easier on the old Astra system as they were the strongest signal in that sector.
I just needed to look for the needle going off the scale!
My method can also be used on the newer Sky digital dishes, but you have to wait for a few seconds each time you 'tweak' the dish as the...
Hi,
have you got a signal strength meter? Piece of cake if you do, even a cheapo £30 one will help.
Otherwise you need to be a bit creative. Set up a receiver and a TV, select a channel that you know is on the /bird/ you want. Use a compass to get approximately on it, with the dish high...
Hi,
I installed satellite systems a few years back.
On a windy day even the standard 60cm dishes act like a parachute...dodgy up a ladder.
Those bigger dishes must be a handfull on a windy day, even at ground level.
A 'spare' one would make a handy gazebo!

Hi,
I looked at getting one a while back. There's another company selling them on ebay, somewhere in London, and they have links to other sites that list all of the mods. Apparently when they arrive you need to strip & clean the gearbox to sort out the 'swarf' from manufacture. Plus there's...
Hi,
that's just border-line between 0.6mm & 0.8mm wire, you can use both I'd say. I'd go for the 0.8mm as I have both available.
Depends if you'll be using the welder for car body-work later. If so then you might want to buy 0.6 mm wire as that'll be better for thinner sheet. If you'll be...
Hi,
welcome to the forum.
I'm not familiar with that particular welder but if you can post a picture or two then someone else may be able to offer advice.
Which side of the transformer is the loose wire 240v or from the lower voltage side?

Peter
Hi,
sorry, I can't see the plans. Can you get a screenshot of them and upload that? If it's 'on paper' then is it possible to photograph them?

The box sounds a bit heavy to me, what are you hanging on it? One inch...
Hi,
'two handed' would be my answer...though I'm probably holding it wrong!
I found it works if I put my right hand around the main shaft just up from the cutting edge, and hold just up from the pointed end between left hand fingers and thumb. Holding it at varying angles I found I can...
