Not sure if I have already suggested this but the plastic/nylon drive coupling on my burner oil punp caused lockouts numerous times why such a seemlingly simple part should; I have no idea. Also check you have the correct capacitor value there are 2 to the best of my knowledge.
Picture is of my oil tank install, the tank, lintels and slabs were a profesional installation. There are 3 pilars of 9inch solid concrete block which are the original install from the original steel tank installation in the 1960's hope it helps.
I suspect I have a similar Zanussi well over 20 years old rarely use it now cheaper to use my dehumdifer but it is brilliant for a quick airing of clothes hence why I still have it. When I moved it over here I decided to open the case and give it a quick clean bad mistake; I ended up stripping...

Good luck Connor I changed at about 27 to a management trainee in a Shoe factory 4 years later the factory closed and I was redundant changed again and ended up in IT (this was the early 80's) the experience you gain will stand you in good stead whereever you end up.
Having owned a 2 door 99 Turbo and a 5 Door 900 NA in the past; SAAB's of this era remain one of my favorite cars. One thing if you work on the dash the securing bolts are different lengths make sure you keep them in order needless to say I did'nt.
Good luck with your one.
I agree with Onoff change the drive coupling and the capacitor, less than £20 delivered. These are the only things that have given trouble on my near 20 year boiler. As an aside I was suprised how stiff to turn the pump was I don't know if they are all like that.
