As said above, parallel relays on the beacons. No need for diodes I.e.
The 3 position switch connects to 3 relays, beacons, low beams, high beams.
The separate beacon switch connects to a separate beacon relay that is parallel to the first beacon relay (on the power side). When the beacons are...
I’m not worried about water coming up as the garage is built well above level. It’s more a concern about the cold floor causing condensation under the wood. This shouldn’t be an issue with the bottom of the sheet being wrapped.
Your right, but the constraint is that the control cabinet for the router is wall mounted and hardwired to the machine so limits it's placement.
I've gone for 18mm MDF for the walls, well over the top I know but this more for it's sound deadening properties than anything, the MDF will be...
Well I’ve committed and ordered a LOT of stuff.
Going down the route of battening the walls with battens lined both sides with closed cell foam (to cut down on some of the vibrations transmitted through the studs), with Acoustic Rockwall between centres and 18mm MDF for the walls.
Ceiling will...
Bearing in mind that one of the best things when trying to attenuate sound is transitions to different materials.
If you consider one of the bubbles within the foil then the sound has to travel through: MDF, Sound insulation, foil, air, foil, block, render.
As I said in the OP, the door is being replaced with an insulated roller next week.
Silver bubble foil is manly being put in as a vapour barrier, but why put in something that doesn’t add any insulation or absorbing properties?
Yes, bubble insulation has minimal properties but it’s cheap and I...
Thanks for the replies guys.
I’ve done a lot of research on this but I’d wanted some real world experience from people in here.
Really the best way to go is going to be my original plan of a free standing plasterboard stud wall with insulation. This is how sound studios are built, basically a...
Stand-alone garage but one wall is adjoining the neighbours garden.
The noise reduction will be solely for the neighbours.
In hot weather I will have to run an AC unit.
I’m almost at the point of proceeding with insulating my garage, primarily to cut down on noise transmission.
I will be running it as a small workshop with a small Cnc router.
I want to cut down on as much noise as possible.
The router will be enclosed with a water cooled spindle, but there...
Just make an adapter plate to mount a standard Chinese 24K RPM water cooled spindle next to your current spindle. You will lose a bit of X axis travel when using it but it will be really simple and you can even configure it as a second spindle with an X offset in your tool table.
