I’d put the lead in the mortar line just above where the fibreglass finishes 150mm code 4 blue your maximum length per continuous run is 1500mm with a 100mm lap for expansion and contraction the corners ideally should be burned but can be bossed over to hold it in the chase get some lead clips...
I’m using my normal .6 wire I’ve had it happen before with a 180 murex there one minute gone the next this caught me by surprise I had done one weld fine nothing different accept the gas I’d have been happy to play with it but I was repairing a kids pit bike so I wanted everything as normal so I...
I have a trusty 160tm I have had for about 6 years now and I’ve been running plain co2 I ran out about a month ago and moved over to 5% co2 argon from Adams for some reason unless I have the feed up high the arc is flaring as if it’s spraying the weld on any ideas
Cheers mate out of curiosity what's the capability of it as in how thick can it weld
I want to build a big bowl turning lathe the thickest part on it is 9mm will this be up to the job
Just picked up a 180 I will be giving it a once over when I take it home I didn't realise it was oil filled I am usually a mig guy but I need to weld up some thick stuff and this one was free if the oil needs replacement what's the best oil to use in it
Been swaying towards the Albee option just the initial kick in the wallet is a bit of a stretch may end up getting an Albee acetylene and renting the oxy till I can stump up for the Albee oxy
Ok let me rephrase that
On mig tig arc's website they have what they call a flame kit it is for want of a better description a turbo set with a small disposable map gas and a large refillable oxygen
Has anyone fitted a turbo set up to a large oxygen bottle like the flame kit on mig tig arc I do lead pipe collars for the company I work for and want to kit myself out to do them for myself but I don't want to get in to renting acetylene
Hi I do a fair amount of welding for people at home but I always get the impression they were expecting a higher bill. How do you guys charge for work ? my usual area of work is on cars
Morning all
Might be a daft question I have recently treated myself to a new Clarke 160tm and the first thing I have noticed is the power switch is not lighting up so the only way you can tell its on is by the sound of the fan is this normal or just a faulty switch
From what the guys at my local machine mart were saying they are stopping the vat free day and giving out 15% off codes to those on the email lists I was going to wait until it came round to get my new machine but the 15% was close enough for me and I was getting impatient
Just want to pick you're brains I have a cheap ish mask that I think I got off Ebay it spend its down time in its bag but I have noticed each time I use it I end up with with mild arc eye just wondering if it could be down to the fact that it never gets left in the light long enough to charge up
Thanks guys went to machine Mart armed with a 15% off voucher and come away with a 160tm for just under £300.
As my workshop got broken in to a little while back I wanted to make sure the new toy couldn't just be walked out with
So I spent last night making up a clasp to go between the front...
