I never said it was amazing. I was just pointing out the fact that they use the technique as do other motorsports. Good or bad strong or weak is completely irrelevant to me.
The technique is mig. It's used alot on desert racing trucks chassis and suspension components for off road sports . And those motors take serious abuse . If the technique is applied properly should be plenty strong enough. It's also used alot on hotrod cars ect.
Best pickup I had was a vauxhaul brava . Good strong diesel engine. Good size buck and load capacity. Pickups today are crap. They are designed for suits and boots to look good when they turn up on site...
Managed to spend a bit of time doing some bits on the shaper. Pre war whitworth half nuts installed. Some of the original dog point grub screws are slightly worn. So I have had a large batch made to original spec. They should be here in a week or so.
Today I finished off cleaning all the change gears and now ready for primer. Travelling steady ready for primer. New pre war whitworth bolts ordered...
Today I acquired.
5/16 pre war whitworth bolts and half nuts. Plus I picked up the big vintage hand crank drill. No maker's name apart from 41 DML. Also some lovely old sharpening stones
