A very nice sub base woofer for the workshop, a FB market place buy, just delivered.
MJ Acoustics are the mutts nuts, I have a slightly posher one in the brewery tap/cinema and love it.
Most subs start about 30 or 40hz, these start at 13hz, proper gut wobblers :)
Expensive to buy new, but...
We try and stay away from weed killer, but on the cobbles in areas of low use, we occasionally spray if the chickens haven't scratched the weeds out. We keep the chickens in their pen for a couple of days after spraying and try to get a couple of days of dry sunny weather.
The other area is...
If you shop around you can get it cheaper. The reason I use it is that it's a simple chemical and breaks down into harmless components. Not sure that can be said about Gallup/Roundup/glyphosate, lots of conflicting research.
So I use the simpler alternative as there is no controversy regarding...
Ammonium Sulphamate (not sulphate, that's a fertiliser!)
Dilute 1kg of crystals in 5 litres of water (or 2lbs in a gallon of water) and add a dash of detergent to cut through waxy leaves.
It seems to be about £15 a kilo on Ebay, not as cheap as it was.
No today, but a few weeks ago. I was looking for some decent portable temperature/humidity detectors for a couple of jobs I have. I wanted reasonable battery life and logging ability. There were a few cheap unsupported things on the bay of thieves then happened upon the SwitchBot units, which...
I bought a weight caddy for the Olympic bars in our "gym" a while ago. Very sturdy but our weights are too small/dense cast iron, we think it's probably intended for larger concrete weights. The weights hit the floor as their diameter is too small
So, weld a few bars underneath.
Seems OK...
A new screen for the recording desk. I had two old Benq screens that cost next to nothing second hand, but the resolution was pants and made it difficult to cram in the DAW software and other stuff. So a 40" screen came along on eBay, not too far away so picked it up yesterday. Now happily being...
Condolences Paul. It took me a long time to sort through my dad's stuff. Fortunately a lot is relevant and I've still got it, but took me ages to part with the stuff that wasn't, he had a garage and two sheds full of stuff.
Over the last few days I've been making a bit of a project for the youngest, musically talented daughter.
First some blockboard that I acquired from @Shox Dr a couple of years ago
Its been in the downstairs barns so a little scabby but structurally fine. Add some eBay legs with insert nuts, I...
Good, I hate them. I wouldn't mind if they were just used on the day of whatever celebration it is, but near me it's like a Somme re-enactment 3 days either side, drives the dogs and my neighbours livestock crazy.
I now have two of these, great machines. Not intentionally, first one I bought was in the US when they were first launched, plan was to pick it up the next time I was over for work, or get one of the guys bring it in their luggage when they came over here. Then Covid hit and postage was...
When I was at uni studying computer science, we had this elderly chap lecturing programming. When he spotted something wrong in your code it often triggered memories of his time in the defence industry. The story would start with which weapon system he encountered a similar error in, and always...
I had to check :) I didn't think so, it comes like this with bolt retained mops
I'm pretty sure I bought the adaptors plus all the polish and extra mops from the Polishing Shop
https://www.thepolishingshop.co.uk/spindles-accessories/spindles-adaptors
I did look around for decent second...
I rigged up a stand for my polisher out of an old pillar drill as it was vibrating the bench and distributing tools all over the floor.
The trouble was that the stand then drifted across the floor. So bought some M10 rubber feet.
Sorted. I did a quick bit of polishing to make sure it...
The spark came, changed out the RCD for an A type, had a cup of tea and about 10 mins after turning the VFD on, it tripped the RCD.
The spark's opinion is that there are quite a few MCBs for various circuits on that RCD and there is probably an amount of leakage already, and the VFD is just...
