I know I have very little activity on here but I do some welding from time to time.
My Haynes is in a garage tomorrow (Sat) to have a proper laser tracking job done, the last time it was check something like 11 years ago. So a few days ago I thought I would try to free off the track-rod...
I have to post something here, just by way of a personal rant. Having seen some recent news articles of protests in London with large groups of people saying all the Corvid has been a conspiracy, drug companies this, face masks that, marching together with no masts, the injections are...
There should not be that many people still after these files now, it is getting a bit long in the tooth with Mach3, I will have to check at some point if my system still works especially the old Win XP machine.
The drive space will probably stay for a while, it depends on if I will need the...
I have dug out some videos from a couple of old backups, some that were in mpeg format I have redone as mp4. I have put them up on Google drive I have messaged CreevyS and Michael Martins with the link.
It will not stay for ever as it takes up most of the Google drive free space.

Do you have any of the videos downloaded, when I put the videos back up I posted that people could download and save them as they would go after a month or two, Since I had the hacking incident my interest in the project disappeared, in fact my interest in metalwork took a large down-turn...
The valves are old RF beam tetrodes and have a few different numbers TT15, CV415 or CV4046. This was a case of make an amp out of what I had, EF91's, ECF82's and the TT15's but it sounds OK to me.
Thanks for the likes.

I did get some very good results with my CNC setup with cut 40, still have it just with the lockdown I have never got around to getting more steel.
I mainly cut 1.5 to 2mm steel and may consider it again for doing valve chassis work.
There are a few things I did to improve the cut quality...
A bit more of what is taking up most of my time, but occasionally means I do some welding. This time TIG'ing mild steel as transformers have some weght to them and aluminium would bend to much if dropped!
A seperate PSU
Just done another chassis to start one side of a valve amp, only 10...
@W.olly , please do not forget to show progress of what ever you do to the narrow boat. Getting one of them is on my bucket list some day, not necessary a do it upper. I think I missed the end of your other build progress, may well have been during my absence from the site.
Hope it works out...
I would have said Magpie, Crow or one of the covids family have the beak to to it and have seen them killing and eating the heads off small birds around here, does not take them long.

The videos are no more! They were put up on youtube again at the end of 2019 and finally deleted end of April this year. Basically it was 15 to 16 Ohms of resisters at 300 watts dissipation from the nozzle to the work piece to enable a small arc as in previous posts.
As things have moved on...
If I think back to a stint at Plessey Beeston, they taught me how to lace wiring looms, but now I would have to re-learn it all again. And if doing it all old school there would be no PCB's in sight just some tag boards under the chassis. I may try something like that next.
Must move the...
Well I finished my 'milli-Watter' amp, more heat than sound, but has been fun to do.
I had to rewind the mains transformer to get HT and 6.3 for the heaters and wind two output transformers, so kept me busyfor some time.
Made up another slightly larger chassis as well so a bit more TIG...
Just had a bit more of a think on this, it would be easier to keep the rest of the electrical system the same, that is 6 Volts AC, but there will be a feed to a main or dip switch for the headlight, it would be at this point that the Voltage doubler could be used, if only feeding a LED...
If you have a 6 Volt stator without any regulator then the old filament bulbs will just be across the output of the stator via a the light switch. A filament bulb will not care if it is fed with AC or DC. A LED really want to have a DC only feed otherwise you may see a flickering at low speed...
My stuff from the last two days, the chassis is just made from remaining bits of aluminium sheet I can find in the garage, prity crap at the TIG work, not done for a long time, least the welder still works and I did some welding.
Playing with Kicad and learning old tech!
