Years ago I made some stools and used general purpose welding rods and seemed to weld okay. Few years ago made a desk and used the mig and didn’t weld as easily from what I remember. Maybe try stick welding with some 2.5mm GP rods.
It's a tricky one as welding to the sills can cause rust inside the sills as well. Probably the safest way is to butt weld the new floor to the flange from the old floor. I've seen professional shops do it the way you're saying, lay the new one over and plug weld in and then seam seal the...
Yeah you just need to see how the U.K. GDP per capita is trending downwards and has been for a long time. As folk become poorer the more they will support the Temu’s and Chinese online companies.
Then why have they been doing so at an astonishing level for over two decades? Have a read on the subject and look at the scale of Chinese industrial espionage, the amount of IP they steal to get ahead and it’s places like the U.K. that will suffer. This is a national threat. When China can just...
Wonder if China has stollen all the detail yet. It’s scary how the Chinese have been able to just steal military intelligence from the US. The amount is vast apparently.
It gets airborne and it travels and causes paint defects. I’ve been there before and it might sound trivial and not an issue but have learnt the hard way.
It’s to coat the exterior stone wall of my workshop and I spray paint inside so don’t want silicon anywhere near it. There’s good waterproofing coatings about but they typically don’t say what they contain.
It won’t solve you’re 2k issue but this is considerably cheaper than automotive 2k but this will give you a good finish and is tough and will last for a long time. https://www.smlmarinepaints.co.uk/products/hardtop-ax A cheap alternative. I’ve used it to paint two rear quarters to get by until...
Personally I’d at least seal it with epoxy primer/sealer first and check it doesn’t react. You can get epoxy sealers that will lay nice and flat and then you can wet on wet 2k topcoat over.
As above.
For the finishing topcoat 2k solid colour would be closer to original and wouldn’t fade as much, or clear over the 2k colour for a deep shine and better UV protection or a mix of 2k colour and clear for your final coat.
I use Sundstrom and you can get them much cheaper than that. They’re used in industry a lot so just keep an eye out on eBay for a deal. Good kit as you can use air fed or filters. I have a few of the half masks as well. Put in a cheeky offer as they may have got it for free anyhow.
