do you do much with the VAQ 'e-differential' (the electric/hydraulic limited slip diff thing on the vrs petrol/golf gti)? they are amazing to drive, but i bet they aren't cheap to fix...
nice!
have you got some sort of fume extraction? whenever we see lasers in factories they take the fume extraction pretty seriously... no idea what vaporized slate/stainless fume is like though?
One lad at work had a new iPhone with the LiDAR stuff. I’ve been keen to try it for ages but my phone doesn’t have it. He said he just downloaded the first free app, and then we scanned this in about 3 minutes after work.
I only got the .stl file off him, and I didn't manage to fix the...
looks like someone has cut the live and neutral singles from the second plug (first picture). I assume they were using two plugs to get enough current to run that from 13a sockets.
Be very careful with that setup. If you reconnect the wiring and plug one plug in, the other plug will become...
New float valve is in. That’s stopped the dribble. I’ll keep an eye on the primary vent over the next couple of days but as it stands it’s not overflowing!
Well, I should’ve looked at my own photos more closely. I think I found the cause of the symptom.
The symptom:
I’ll get the float valve swapped and report back.
Thanks for all the help guys, can’t believe this is free!
Today I can proudly say I’m not the idiot. Nothing has been touched on the system since I’ve lived here for about 8 years… except the pump was swapped a year or two ago, and it was set to #3 (I was that idiot) but now set to #1
thats useful, cheers. so its the primary open vent thats my problem
i just tried lifting it up fully and its still dribbling water, ill get another one fitted, its not helping the problem. thanks brightspark!
I think it’s an indirect cylinder?

I’ll try to chase where the vent pipe is coming from.
I don’t think the taps are coming out...
I seem to have an urgent problem with my central heating. This is the header tank for the radiators (I think). And judging by the colour of the water, it’s full of rust.
There’s hot water feeding back into the header tank via that white pipe, which I’m assuming is where the rust is coming...
would a doorbell cam do what you need? ive got something like this:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Security-Wireless-Battery-Powered-Detection-Self-Installation/dp/B081VD7VVZ
records on motion detection, notification on your phone, recorded in the house, no subscription. would recommend
i get it where the drive rollers crimp it if its not been used for a while. i think its the material creeping over time as its crushed by the tensioner and becoming weakened. It doesnt tend to happen if i retract it all the way from the feed rollers or if i am printing frequently.
Good question!
They came from a pub, the landlord wanted rid, I think they're pretty old. One of them says its a CO2/Nitrogen mix so its probably not much use for welding (not sure if they all are).
I thought they look like a nice long, thick flue (assembly required), if a thick walled flue...
