The bearings arrived today, the packaging states "Design, final processing and quality assurance in Austria" - guess that means they're Chinese!
I dismantled the front end of my sander and the rorler bearing was definitely seized, after seperating the bearing from the outer casing...
Not a clue to be honest. I initially planned to go for SKF or similar but they are around a third of the price of a brand new tool so I looked nearer the cheaper end and went for a UK seller on ebay who was offering a branded bearing and bought a couple of these...
Excellent, thank you for posting this....my file started chucking belts for no reason today and no amoount of adjustment would cure it. Eventually noticed the end bearing was red hot and the bearing has more or less seized. Bit annoying really because I've hardly used the tool but I guess...
Makes sense; I've found that if I switch to forward from reverse and then press start it'll stop the motor and then change direction so not too bad really.
Thanks again, really appreciate your help :)

Marvellous...wired it up and it worked straight away so I must have programmed it well enough after all (think I set the ramp at factory, which is 3 sec so not very heavy)
Big thank you to Daleyd and rikrobson, I thought this was going to be a problem like last time but obviously not...

Exactly, there's nothing more frustrating than using mickey mouse tools and because I have very little experience of TIGs value everyone's opions here, thank you all.
The matter of warranty has been my main dilemma. Spending such a large amount (for me anyway!) isn't an easy decision so the...
Agree with most of what you're saying but aren't the higher end machines more likely to have been purchased by businesses? I can't see many hobbyists spending £2k+ on a machine that's only used occasionally.

I'm a beginner with TIG, only having used it for a short time many years ago, but I know a professional TIG welder (friend of my Son) who produces some amazing top quality welds and has offered to help me out.
I'm near J29 M1 if that's any use...
