Found a picture - the house fuse box was replaced and my garage got its own rcd and 16amp plug under the fuse box.
In the garage there was a main power switch and the other end of the 16amp plug. My garage was more or less at the bottom of my garden so about 30m.
Correction it was a 190a mig.........
However I was only welding thin plate, never tripped a trip, never blew a fuse. You can go all scientific with the solution if you choose, but it was a solution to the problem of welding in the back garden under a tarp. The flex was heavy industrial stuff...
I had a detached garage 30m from the house, I needed a new fuse box anyway so had one fitted and included the garage own 16a supply. We used a 30m length of quality 15mm industrial flex with a 16a plug on each end. When I went in the garage I used to unroll it....
And plug it into the garage...
When I started doing the research to buy a TIG I will always come here first, R-tech quickly took my favourite position for the budget I had, then I discovered Doubleboosts youtube channel !

No3 spark plug on my Honda Blackbird engine has a partially snapped bottom end of the plug stuck in the threads inside the head. Blackbird plugs lie at the bottom of a quite tight tube down into the head, so access is at best poor.
For the last few days I have been spraying wd40 down...
I was surprised how much argon I used to weld 2 pipes, in fact I emptied the bottle.
Its only a hobbyweld one, so next one I buy will be bigger.
If I "T" the pipe will a single bottle feed the torch & back purge at the same time ?

This one is a bit of a one off - Ive not had it to bits yet, but the "word of mouth" history is good. I think Blackbirds rev to 10500, as for the torque that will have to wait till its been on the dyno.
