I have a tin of Linklyfe in the shed, I use it to soak the chains on my stationary engines when I rebuild them and being slow running it tends to stay put. The tin must be 20+ years old, a real bargain I guess when spread over the years!

Have tried again today with no luck so, as I now have a new welder, this one is going to either be sold for spares (not on here though as I have no access to posting in the sales section) or weighed in at my next visit to the scrappy. Thanks again for all your advice, much appreciated.

I have the same problem with my 130 Steve, folk have advised making sure that the buttons controlling power are fully in or out. Might work for you, didn't for mine though.:(

Thank you for the reply. I believe that the black wire became detached while I was poking around in thereas it wasn't loose when I took the covers off. I have had all the bolted joints apart and am unable to find a ring anywhere which seems strange. The wire feed WAS running, I had fitted a...
I used to own a VW Passat and had to MIG a crack on the door hinge, I disconnected the battery and even uncoupled the alternator BUT I didn't disconnect the ignition control module which was situated under the bulkhead! Yes, you guessed, it burnt out internally and of course the thing wouldn't...
Just to update this thread, I purchased my welder on tuesday and used it for a little job the next day. What a difference, the old SIP was never as good even when new! I am using the gasless wire provided at the moment, it doesn't seem quite as clean a weld as with gas but is fine for the...
Thank you for that information Steve, I will purchase a liner at the same time then. I already have the regulator, I use Argon, so just require a hose which M/Mart appear to stock as well. Looking forward to some decent welding for a change!

As my SIP Migmate 130 Turbo seems to have expired I am going to take advantage of Machine Marts vat free week and have selected the Clarke 151 EN as its replacement. The price will just be under the £200 mark which is about my limit for hobby use.
Most of my welding is on mild steel around the...
I have found 230 volts at the R S T terminals, also 230 into the relay and when I press the trigger it reads 11 volts at the relay output. This seems too low to me? I have checked the voltage at the terminals on the PCB where the 'little green connector' fits on (top left in pic) and can only...
Hi guys, my first post on here as until yesterday everything was fine(ish) but now I have a slight problem! Machine is a SIP Migmate 130 Turbo, it is probably 15 years old but has never been a 'good' welder as it suffered the poor wire feed etc. Anyway yesterday I took the plunge and renewed...
