I was getting annoyed with it in the vice. I often use it on obscure shapes like mudguards ect so it's nice to have plenty of clear space around it without having a bespoke stand taking up valuable room in the workshop

Just look for some polycarbonate sheet. I doubt it will be actual perspex because it's very brittle. Polycarbonate on the other hand is very tough and impact resistant.
