I reckon that Serge's machine at £400 with 3 years work done so far and 2 years warranty left has to be good, even if he threw it in the skip now he's in pounds. I've a Kemppi which has lost far more than that amount of money since I bought it new 4 years ago.
But Shox Dr, I wasn't asking, as...
Thank-you for your advice, it looks like you haven't read, in this thread, Serge's experience of a similar machine he purchased. You should read it if you are interested in the outcome of buying such a machine. As far as your analogy goes I would say that if your washing machine packs in then...
I am about to buy a Stahlwerk machine Serge - I've been waiting for a review such as yours and after reading this topic in its entirety, I can't believe that most people on this site are still not convinced that this machine is very good value for money and are only too quick to run it down...
Sorted - a close inspection of the PCB shows that the relay had been changed by the previous owner, an even closer inspection showed a small solder splatter - when this was removed the problem disappeared. :clapping:
OK got the wires sorted - next problem is the torch is live all the time showing around 20v without pressing the trigger and burns the wire when arced to the earth clamp, the main solenoid clicks rapidly during this but the wire doesn't feed at this stage. The voltage then drops to about 6v but...
I am trying to find out which terminals on the A/C control unit does the purple wire which goes to a transformer and a black wire which goes to the gas solenoid connect to on a minimig 180c.
Ok found a circuit diagram for it - does anyone have the key for the diagram that outlines the components. There doesn't appear to be a fan in this machine is this correct. I'm also interested to know the duty cycle and the rest of the spec if anyone has it to hand or even if someone can...
Thanks - no, not a fulltime welder, just now occasionally on car repairs. I use stick, gas and mainly mig - I just recently bought an old Lincoln Minimig 180c, it needs a few capacitors but I think I have sourced them now from highland-scientific.com but I would be interested if anyone can...
Thanks for the info Wannabe - the capacitors especially the one on the left are badly scorced and the plastic casing cracked - they must be taking some kind of hurt.
Incidentially anyone got an idea where I obtain a manual for this machine.
Thanks
Jim
Thanks Rtbcomp - the welder is working ok but I was looking inside to try and locate a clicking noise and seen that these were quite burnt looking - if they are filters then they are not playing any critical part - any ideas on the clicking noise, it happens when the machine is idle.
Thanks but I was thinking of a supplier in the UK - I'm not too clued up on the electronics part so I definately have no idea of how to make these up from separate components, can you explain how to do this. These capacitors look to be wired together so could they all be replaced by a single...
New to the forum today - this is my first post so go easy. I have been trawling the web trying to find these capacitors for the Lincoln Minimig 180c. The originals are Rifa PMR2022 (40/085/56) 200vDC / 125vAC. Has anyone any idea where I can find equivalent replacements?
Hi all - I'm more of an occasional welder now, previously I have been viewing the forum as guest and have benefited from the views of others passed on.
